    Iam not shure that i understood you 100%, but the gear is just held in place with the feather key, that you can see on the left site of the gear. You need to use a puller, to pull the gear from the shaft( just grab behind the first or the second tooth row and pull), sticks very well after so many years. There is no rubber needed for mounting, not shure where the parts you marked with those arrows came from.
