Auslagerung: AMG M111 E18 Tuning-Kit (für den C180)

  • hello Jochen-43er

I have a c180 and Im trying to increase significantly the power.

by your comment, are you saying that if I change the cam tree from my c180 to the ex (230k) raise up to"14hp"?

also can you know to tell me if I exchange the engine head of a 230k in the block of my c180 it will fit? And if it's worth it?

    thanks

  • Hey guys, quick one: I recently came across a W202 C180 with what looks like the original AMG Tuning Kit (M111, around 140hp). I’ve read bits and pieces online about this package, but info is super limited.

Does anyone here know exactly what the kit included and what parts were actually different compared to the standard M111? I’ve seen mentions of things like camshafts, ECU (HWA box), maybe even valves, but nothing really confirmed.

Any documentation, old brochures, or firsthand experience would be amazing

  • Aren't you the one who posted this on Facebook and I commented it before? A friend of mine is still in search, his father works at Mercedes-Benz.

    Grüßle!

    Johannes

  • Hey, wegi180 haha no that wasn’t me on Facebook must have been someone else chasing the same mystery. I’m just really fascinated by this AMG kit on the M111 and trying to piece together what it actually included. It’s super hard to find any solid info – just bits about cams, ECU, maybe valves… nothing confirmed.

If your friend’s father at Mercedes-Benz could share even the smallest detail, that would be gold I’d absolutely appreciate it!

I have found one in a random place in Greece and I am in the process of acquiring it. But if I don't know what exactly the Kit had, I will not be able to either see what's have already be swapped for ordinary w202 parts for the M111 nor I will be able to restore it to it's closet original form.

  • The most important thing is:

standard early M111 engines in the C180 do NOT have camshaft adjusters. AMG engines have one.

The ECU has a AMG Sticker and can be found in the compartment on the passenger side in the engine bay

The magnet at the phaser is part number A1190510077

    The phaser is A1110500447.

Valve springs are also different and the inlet camshaft itself. Also a special airduct was provided as cold air intake plus the obligatory AMG muffler. And: the exhaust manifold seems to be altered.

And yes: the kit provides according to AMG 140 PS @5850 rpm. Seems interesting and the number of vehicles equipped with this is absolutely unknown.

The whole kit could be purchased with part number HWA1110100100. When available. But these times are long gone...

  • What times back then! And what a beautiful small mystery. But I love the fact that even to the small engine like the M111 have being, even to the slightest, being "tuned" by AMG.

But, yes hahaha today, everything is a "look" to fool your self by THE LOWEST EFORT POSIBLE,hahaha. Thanks a lot for your time and information, I will also upload some photos for more people to see and study.

Oh also, I would like to add. Mein, seems to fitted with a sportiest cloth and carbon fiber trim. Also AMG Light Aluminium wheel are installed and apparently are called "AMG L.A.WHLS, 5-HOLE"

And a more squared sport exhaust (double square tip exhaust like the C AMG model.

That's all I know about it. Hahaha.
